As outdoors persons, we have the opportunity to witness nature in all her
splendor. From the first anticipation of dawn to the dimming of the sun’s journey, we
are blessed to call our small slice of Northeast Texas home.
Texas is one of the most biologically diverse places on the planet and the Lake
Fork Area is a prime example of that diversity. With cathedral like towering pines and
lowly button bushes, the breathtaking spectrum of wildlife, blended with the culture of
East Texas music, cuisine, and the people, this is truly a good place to call home.
Located just 90 miles east of Dallas and almost centered between Interstate
Highways 20 and 30, Lake Fork is as unique as it is a true Texas destination. Visitors
from many locales, foreign and domestic, come to Lake Fork to test themselves against
the elusive and potentially giant largemouth bass. Lake Fork is the home of the majority
of the state record sized fish. No other lake in Texas, or body of water anywhere, can
claim so many trophy fish.
But the Lake Fork Area is so much more than just a terrific fishing destination,
it is the home to hard working industrious individuals, businesses, churches, schools,
and benevolent and philanthropic organizations dedicated to the maintenance and improvement of our founding fathers’ basic principles.
Accordingly, businesses thrive in our area with a good supply of talented and
hardworking individuals plus low business costs, ample and available real estate, low
taxes, and a healthy “how can we help you?” mentality. The Lake Fork Area is fertile
ground for entrepreneurs as well as established corporations to put down roots.
Major highways, rail, and air transportation are readily available. Restaurants, merchants, medical facilities, professionals and tradespeople are established and welcome you as a friend, visitor, or potential neighbor to the area.
Primary, secondary and post-secondary schools and colleges are but a cast away from the friendly small town atmosphere that our area is so well recognized. The name Texas comes from the Caddo Indian word tejas, meaning “friend,” and that attitude is still so well reflected in our citizens.
The Directors and members of the Lake Fork Area Chamber are committed to supporting, expanding and growing our local economy. The Chamber’s guiding principle is to advance opportunities for commercial, corporate and industrial businesses while supporting civic interests of our community. The Chamber exists to help support your business, connect to the community and help you create new opportunities to do so. By patronizing our local businesses, you are growing our local economy and adding to the prosperity of our community.
Welcome to Lake Fork – we bet that once you get to know us, you will agree that this is, indeed, a very special place.
